Use This App to Stay Healthy While Dining Out

    Last updated 2 months ago

Activities such as dining out with friends or family members can sometimes make it difficult to adhere to a weight loss program. Restaurants often do not have ingredient and calorie information readily available for diners, which is why the Restaurant Nutrition app is so helpful. When you download this app, you’ll have a comprehensive resource loaded with nutrition information right at your fingertips.

This app contains nutrition information for more than 250 restaurants and 60,000 food items. You’ll be able to track your calorie intake and your proteins, carbs, and fats. The app even allows you to establish your diet goals and preferred nutritional profile!

Valley Medical Weight Control is your partner on your weight loss journey. Get started on an effective weight loss program today by calling (888) 502-5405 or visit our website to learn more about our premier clinic in Arizona.

What is Lean Body Mass Index?

    Last updated 2 months ago

Lean body mass index, also called LMBI, measures the amount of tissues and other materials in your body that are not comprised of fat. Thus, your LMBI is a “fat free” measure of the other elements that make up your body. These elements include blood, organs, bones, skin, and muscles. To calculate your lean body mass index, the amount of fat in your body is first determined. Your percentage of body fat is multiplied by your total body weight, then this value is subtracted from your weight. The remainder is the weight in your body that does not come from fat. Measuring LMBI during weight loss will help to make sure you are losing fat, but not healthy muscle.

At Valley Medical Weight Control, our digital scale technology can measure your lean body index, percentage body fat, lean body mass, and fat free mass. Based upon your specific needs, we will help you develop the right plan to lose stubborn weight and enjoy a slimmer, healthier body. Check out our blog for more helpful weight loss terms and information, or call (888) 502-5405 to speak with one of our physicians or staff today.

Meeting Your Fitness-Related New Year's Resolutions

    Last updated 2 months ago

The New Year is a time when many people make resolutions to live a more positive lifestyle. These resolutions often include losing weight for a slimmer, more confident, and healthier body. If you’re ready to meet and surpass your New Year’s goals in 2014, keep reading for some tips to help you stay motivated throughout the year.

    Set Goals
Keeping your New Year’s resolutions can be difficult without specific goals in mind. Simply thinking that you want to “lose weight” in vague terms can make it difficult to stay motivated. How much weight do you want to lose? Do you have a specific date by which you’d like to reach your goals? Take the time to write down specific goals for yourself throughout the year, and then design a plan to help you meet them. Check in with your resolutions on a regular basis to chart your progress. Setting weekly and monthly goals and milestones can help you to stay motivated and give you the chance to celebrate your ongoing progress as you see results.

    Seek Help
If you have tried to lose weight before, you may have been frustrated by your lack of results. Often, despite your best efforts, you do not have the experience or knowledge to design the best plan to suit your body’s needs. Seeking the assistance of a weight loss clinic can help you to meet your goals in a healthy, expedient fashion. With the help of a trained weight loss physician, you can take advantage of medications, nutritional supplements, and a meal plan specifically designed to help you maintain energy and suppress the urge to overeat. Your weight loss clinic will also help you develop a post-weight loss plan to maintain your new, slimmer body.

Let Valley Medical Weight Control help you meet your New Year’s resolution this year! Take advantage of our special offers to help you lose weight in Phoenix, Tempe, Mea, Gilbert, or Chandler. You can find out more about our weight loss program by calling (888) 502-5405.

It can help you to recover more quickly when you are feeling ill, and even possesses cancer-preventing properties. This vitamin is safe, effective, and inexpensive, making it a valuable addition to any healthy diet.
